Anodized Ladder

At first glance, the steps of this aluminum ladder appear to be painted in a spectrum of colors. In reality, each step was immersed in the same chemical bath and colored solely through variations in time. The longer the aluminum remained submerged, the deeper and more saturated the resulting hue became. Color therefore functions as a visual record of duration, transforming time into a measurable and visible dimension.

The ladder was commissioned by Design Museum Holon, as part of COLOR exhibition, curated by Liora Rosin and Yuval Saar.
